Truely, the most versatile and important instrument in all of music, the piano or "pianoforte" is an endless universe of intellectual simulation and musical exploration.  Nearly all of the great musical composers were piano and/or keyboard players.  The 88 keys of the piano are a one-person orchestra that is perfect as a musical accompaniment to any other soloist, instrument, chous, or ensemble of musicians.  The piano is also an amazing solo instrument which can beautifully reproduce almost any style of music.  One can spend an entire lifetime studying the piano and still learn something new from the vast universe that is the piano.
