Dan Russo

Dan Russo’s extensive college education is a testament to his intense intellectual curiosity, passion for learning, and love of music. In September of 2000, Dan was granted a full scholarship to Pace University, New York. In June of 2004, he earned his Bachelor’s degree from Pace University. In December of 2006, he earned his master’s degree in Education from Pace University. From September of 2007 to December of 2009, he would take advantage of yet another academic scholarship to earn an additional fifty-nine post-graduate college credits from Manhattanville College, in Purchase, New York.

Dan Russo has performed at several prestigious venues including Lincoln Center and Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts. He has performed numerous solo recitals throughout his career. He has also performed with a variety of ensembles including church and school choruses, rock bands, and jazz bands.

Dan Russo has worked for the prestigious Chappaqua Central School District as a vocal, general, and instrumental music teacher. Dan Russo has also worked as a substitute teacher at the following Westchester school districts: Edgemont in Scarsdale, Irvington, White Plains, Bedford, and Hendrick Hudson. Dan Russo has worked as a student teacher at Briarcliff Middle School, New Rochelle High School, Thomas Jefferson Elementary School in Yorktown Heights, and Fox Lane Middle School in Bedford. For these positions, Dan Russo has earned his official New York State teacher certification in the subject of music.

Dan has been teaching private piano lessons since 2005. He teaches a variety of classical and popular musical styles. The classical styles include: liturgical, baroque, classical, romantic, and impressionist. The popular styles include: jazz, rock, country, folk, metal, pop, blues, soul, R & B, techno, hip hop, etc. He teaches both musical literacy and improvisation. The reading of standard music notation, chord diagrams, tablature, and lead sheets are all taught during lessons. When he is not teaching lessons, he regularly writes and/or records his own music.
